Amos Hakham, the first winner of the International Bible Contest and later a prominent Bible scholar, died on Thursday night at the age of 91.
Hakham won the Bible Contest in 1958 and as a result of the win, became the center of national and international interest, both because of his vast knowledge as well as his extraordinary personal story.
