Rabbi Yissachar Dov Englander, head of the Machanovka Kollel in London, drowned to death, Thursday morning, at the age of 48 at the Brander Camp beach. The tragedy occured as the rabbi was taking a plunge before morning prayers. He is survived by eight children, including a son who was scheduled to be married in two months.
It was the third drowning of a notable rabbi in the British community during the last eight months. The other two victims were Rabbi Chaim Breisch - Rabbi Englander's uncle - about two months ago, and Rabbi Ya'akov Meir Lipschitz.
