Israel is hoping a discussion in the Bulgarian parliament with members of the Syrian opposition may lead to clues about the whereabouts of missing IDF soldier Guy Hever. A representative on behalf of Deputy Minister Ayoub Kara will attend the discussion, scheduled for Wednesday.

The discussion will be attended by representatives of various Arab countries and will focus on the ongoing crisis in Syria, but Kara expressed hope that the issue of Hever’s disappearance may come up.

“This is a very important first meeting related to the developments around us and it will be attended by a Syrian intelligence officer who defected to the opposition,” Kara said on Tuesday. “Through him we will try to find any leads to Guy Hever.”
