Army Bans Kippah With Words, Restricts Nail Polish

The Israel Defense Force has released new rules regarding what soldiers may and may not wear. Among the new rules is a restriction on wearing kippot (also known as yarmulkes) with words. Wearing a kippah of any size, material, or color is acceptable as long as there are no words printed on them.

Other rules include the banning of wearing sunglasses indoors or at official ceremonies and restrictions on the use of nail polish. The directive was disseminated by Lt. Col. Oren Avraham, head of IDF Personnel and Discipline.
