Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu announced Monday night that despite the approval of the austerity plan by the government and its cuts to government spending – including health spending – projects to reinforce or build safe areas in hospitals will continue. Currently under construction is a safe area at Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon, a project that will continue, said Netanyahu.
Deputy Health Minister Ya'akov Litzman praised Netanyahu for his decision, saying that it was “important and blessed.” Barzilai Director Dr. Hezi Levi also thanked Netanyahu for his decision.
