Lapid: Austerity No Fun for Middle Class, Either

After comments by Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz earlier Monday that imposing an austerity program on middle-class Israelis was “not fun for me,” Yesh Atid party leader Yair Lapid said that the middle-class was apologetic to Steinitz for “putting him in a position that was not fun, but it's also no fun to live in a country where the education, health, transportation, and police systems are falling apart. The cost of living is constantly rising, and it is impossible for many people to covering their expenses.

“The Prime Minister just discovered last week that Israel was facing a crisis, but his gigantic and wasteful government continues to burden citizens with an exhausting bureaucracy that costs billions,” Lapid added.
