Ayalon: Legitimate to Show Friendship to Candidates

Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon rejected, Monday, claims that the reception for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney of the United States was too warm. Interviewed by Kol Yisrael government radio, the former ambassador to Washington, DC said it was legitimate to show friendliness to the two candidates for president, and made it clear that Israel was not getting involved in the internal affairs of other countries, and certainly not those of the U.S. during the election campaign.

Ayalon noted that President Barack Obama and former president George W. Bush with open arms before they were elected and that the White House determines its policies based on American interests and developments in the area.
