Two Italian engineers, who were kidnapped and held captive for more than a week in Syria, returned to Italy on Sunday. The two were abducted on July 18 and released over the weekend, but it still not known which group kidnapped them and for what purpose.

Upon their arrival in Rome, one of them noted that the Syrian army is likely responsible for their release, but would not give details.
