Opposition forces in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo claimed, Sunday, that Defense Minister Fahd Al-Freij was critically wounded by a sniper during fighting for control of the city. They also claimed to have taken control of the agricultural college on the outskirts of the city, where the government had put an artillery battery.
The rebels claim two Syrian tank crews defected and that 45 Hizbullah officers and other soldiers had been captured. An estimated 1,000 Hizbullah fighters were reported on their way to Aleppo from Damascus. It had been reported that Free Syrian Army (defector) troops had been driven from Aleppo, but the rebels said they fought off a government offensive.
