Cuts will Hit Homefront Preparedness

Chairman Ze'ev Bielski of the Knesset Homefront Preparedness Subcommittee said, Sunday, that proposed budget cuts "will bring about unprecedented harm in home front preparedness." He explained that Israel faces many strategic threats, 40% of the population are without protective masks and the physical protection in buildings is lacking.

The Kadima Knesset member called on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to provide an alternative plan "which will insure that - despite across-the-board cuts - the homefront will remain protected because the state of Israel's strength depends on it."
