Public Safety Minister: Cuts Mean More Violence, Crime

Public Safety Minister Yitzchak Aharonovitch reacted, Sunday, to across-the-board budget cuts on his ministry by saying they meant "more crime and violence and fewer police in the street".

The ministry said the immediate impact of the cuts is the closing of four small police stations and two big ones, as well as the deployment of patrol units. It stressed the impact on the Arab sector and training for police and Border Guards.
