The Knesset approved on Wednesday the second and third readings of bills authored by MKs Dov Henin (Hadash) and MK Zahava Galon (Meretz). The bills ensure that battered women who leave a shelter will receive an adjustment grant.
MK Henin said that “in most cases, a woman who is forced to stay in a shelter out of fear for her life or the lives of her children does not come home after staying in a shelter. The bills stipulate the right to an adjustment grant, for a woman and her children, upon leaving the shelter.”
