MK, Legal Advisor Oppose "Resignation" Status

Member of Knesset Aryeh Bibi said, Tuesday, that he should not be declared as "resigned from the Kadima party" solely on the basis of his words and thoughts. Speaking at a meeting of the Knesset's House Committee on a request by Kadima Chairman Shaul Mofaz to apply the status to Bibi and three other Knesset members, Bibi said he had not signed any document to back up the designation, which, if approved by the committee, would restrict their Knesset activities.

Knesset Legal Advisor Ayal Ynon expressed his opposition to the designation, telling the committe that the designation should not be automatic but if the Knesset members saw themselves as no longer part of Kadima, they should resign.
