No Coalition Discipline in C'tee Vote on Mofaz Request

The Knesset House Committee convened, Tuesday morning, to discuss a request by Chairman Shaul Mofaz of the Kadima party to declare four of Kadima's Knesset members as having resigned by virtue of their reported move to the Likud party. The designation puts restrictions on their activities in the parliament.

At the start of the meeting, Committee Chairman Yariv Levin said "Coalition discipline must not be applied in the vote on this matter. Levin and three other regular committee members are from the Likud, among 11 committee members from coalition parties. Three of the six opposition party members on the committee are from Kadima. One of the alternates is a Likud member. The other two are from opposition parties.
