The Movement for Quality Government asked Prime Minister and Likud Party Chairman Binyamin Netanyahu not to give a position to former Kadima Member of Knesset Tzachi Hanegbi, who announced, Monday that he is returning to the Likud. The movement claims that appointing Hanegbi will strike a mortal blow to the faith of the public in its elected officials, due to Hanegbi's perjury conviction as a crime of moral turpitude.
Under Likud bylaws, the party administration and a party court would have to permit his return. Hanegbi is one of a number of current and former Kadima Knesset members who are reportedly headed for the Likud.
