MK Eitan: Bid to House C'tee Not Serious, Won't Succeed

Minister Michael Eitan said, Monday afternoon, that the bid by Kadima Party Chairman Shaul Mofaz to have the Knesset House Committee oust four members of the party "is not serious and has no chance of being accepted." He added, "Knesset members are not marionettes who can be removed and punished by mere words just because of internal disputes."

The veteran parliamentarian said, "The law demands [certain] conditions for a declaration on Knesset members as resigning and in this case they don't exist and there's no chance that they'll be approved against the wishes of Knesset members and the court."
