Hagai Amir: Proud to be a Partner in Eliminating Rabin

Hagai Amir, who was released from prison in May, after serving 16 years on a conviction for helping his brother, Yigal Amir, assassinate Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin, has started posting pages from his diary on the Facebook social site.

Channel 10 television reported that Hagai Amir blamed Rabin for taking part in the disappearance of the children of Yemenite immigrants. The station cited a chapter from 1996, in which Amir wrote,  "I'm proud to be a partner in eliminating one of those people who lent a hand to these things and I'm sorry I cannot do more." Against the backdrop of a commission appointed to investigate the matter, he continued, "I was outraged at the cruelty of the people who ruled this country toward unsuspecting people who immigrated to Israel for the love of the land and not for money."
