2 Swiss Hospitals Stopping Non-Medical Circumcision

The children's hospital in Zurich said, last week that it is temporarily stopping circumcisions of a non-medical nature and the hospital in the northeastern city of St. Gallen followed suit by saying it will make a decision on the matter after summer vacation, according to reports in Swiss media. The action followed the ruling of a court in Germany against the practice, which prompted the German legislature to pass a resolution calling for legislation allowing the procedure in the name of religious freedom.
