A man has reportedly set himself afire at the Yehud Junction in central Israel, reports said Sunday. Passerby tried to douse the flames with water and other materials. First aid workers finally got the fire out and treated him on the spot before taking him to a nearby hospital. Doctors said that he was suffering from burns throughout his body. His motives were not immediately clear.

Several demonstrations and memorial services were held Saturday night in various places around the country in memory of Moshe Silman, who set himself on fire at a social justice protest in Tel Aviv Saturday night. Most of the protests were quiet, with the exception of one in Tel Aviv that joined a larger demonstration that blocked roads and streets in the center of the city. Silman died of his wounds on Friday, after suffering burns to 80% of his body. His funeral is to be held Sunday at 5PM  in Holon.
