MKs Demand Action on Levy Committee Report

A group of 18 MKs from the Likud, Shas, Yisrael Beiteinu, National Union, and Bayit Yehudi have signed on as sponsors of a law that would codify the findings of the Levy committee on Jewish settlement in Judea and Samaria, and use the findings as the basis of laws applying to a host of activities and procedures. Among the changes the law would require would be the establishment of a branch of the Israel Lands Administration for homeowners in Jewish towns in Judea and Samaria, allowing homeowners to register their property in the Tabu land registry.

The Levy committee determined that Judea and Samaria are not “occupied” territories, and that the designation should not be used in regard to the legal status of the area.
