      Harsh Fines for Cutting Trees Approved

      The Knesset has approved tough fines as a penalty for cutting trees without permission in national parks. A person who cuts down a tree without authorization will be fined 7,500 shekels, and a company that does the same will get a 15,000 shekel fine.

      Uprooting or burning a tree will be punished with a 10,000 shekel fine, and damaging a tree will have a 3,500 shekel penalty.
