Prices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange were up, slightly, at the start of trading on Tuesday. About a quarter of an hour into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 960.31, up 24 percent. The same percentage increase meant a posting of 967.79 for the TA 100, including a .32 percent advance by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 stocks just outside the TA 100 rose .12 percent to 347.54.
Leading the gainers were the bank stocks, whic advanced a quarter of a percent to 851.74 as the financial institutions stood at 756.51, up .16 percent, including a .17 percent gain to 763.69 by the insurance index. Next came most of the stocks on the technology index, which rose two tenths of a percent to 337.14, while the biomed issues stood at 730.26, up .08 percent. The oil and natural gas stocks slipped .15 percent to 971.18, while the real estate index stood at 253.69. The communications and media issues declined .59 percent to 402.03.
