The Israeli delegation to the Math Olympics, being held in Argentina this year, won five medals, and finished overall in thirty first place. Three of the medals were silver and two were bronze. Teams from over 100 countries participated in the event, including from the U.S., North Korea, Russia and Canada.

Last year, the Israeli team won a gold medal and came in 23rd place. This year the team was late to the games due to flight delays and lost several points because of their tardiness, team officials said.
