Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin told the Knesset presidium, Monday, that he intends to extend the Knesset's summer session to the start of August, if not beyond, to pass a uniform draft law to replace the Tal Law, which provided draft referrals for hareidi yeshiva students. He said, "This is atopicthat requiresa decision,and the Knessetcannotinterruptits deliberationsfor formalizing it,onlybecause ofthe date ofthe break.If the governmentinitiateslegislationto the Knessetnext week, the last week of thesession, I will ask the House Committee to approve the request for an extension ofthe sessionto completethe discussionsthis matter."

Rivlin continued, "If therequestis rejectedbythe House Committee,I intend to continuethelast meeting of theKnessetintothe break,until the discussions are finished and the law is approved.This is of great public importancethat the Knessetcannotignore."
