Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted lower numbers at the start of trading, Monday morning. A few minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 958.32, down .32 percent, while the TA 100 declined .31 percent to 965.36, including a .34 percent drop to 1,055.25 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 stocks just outside the TA 100 advanced .08 percent to 351.96.
Worst hit was the oil and natural gas index, which slumped 1.11 percent to 991.15, followed by the insurance issues, which stood at 774.30, down .79 percent, as the financial institutions declined .67 percent to 760.29, including a posting of 850.63, down .15 percent, by the bank stocks. A decline of .23 percent meant a posting of 408.08 by the communications and media index, and an opening of 256.63 by the real estate issues. The biomed issues stood at 732.81, while the rest of the technology stocks slipped .03 percent to 336.47.
