Regavim to Betzalel: Don't Support Illegal Arab Outpost

The Regavim movement demanded, Sunday, that Education Minister Gid'on Sa'ar and President Arnon Zuckerman of the Betzalel Academy of Art and Design cancel an exhibition "Struggle for Home - Recognition of the Village of Dahamash" in the school's official gallery and a musical evening to collect funds for the legal battle of the unauthorized Arab village next to the city of Lod, southeast of Tel Aviv.

In a letter to the two officials, attorney Avraham Palmor of Regavim called the theme part of a dishonest effort by the extreme leftist, pro-Arab sector of Israeli society, also objecting to the drafting of an academic institution for illegal political purposes. Referring to aerial photography tracking the illegal building on agricultural land since 1991, he cited the state for closing its eyes to developments, and said it was ironic that those who oppose the Jewish presence in Judea and Samaria support flagrant illegal Arab activity within the 1949 armistice lines under the guise of "human rights".
