Yad Vashem to Mark 70th Anniversary of French Roundup

On Monday, the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial institution in Jerusalem will hold a ceremony marking 70 years since the roundup of French Jewry during the Holocaust. The event will begin with a ceremony in the Hall of Remembrance at 11:00 followed by a commemoration event in the auditorium at 12:00 

Addressing the observance will be Rabbi Israel Meir Lau, Chairman of the Yad Vashem Council, French Ambassador to Israel Christophe Bigot, President Shlomo Balsam of Aloumim, the Israel Association of Jewish Children Hidden in France during the Holocaust, Robert Spira, representing Sons and Daughters of French Jewish Deportees, and Dr. Simha Epstein of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, who will deliver the keynote lecture "70 Years since the roundup at Velodrome d'Hiver".
