MI6 Chief: Iran Will Have Nukes by 2014

Sir John Sawers, who heads the British MI6 spy agency, said that covert operations by British spies had prevented the Iranians from developing nuclear weapons as early as 2008.

The Daily Telegraph reported that the MI6 chief said, however, that it was now likely Iran would achieve its goal to achieve nuclear weapons by 2014. Sawers reportedly made the comments during a secret briefing to the Cabinet in March about Iran’s growing military threat, but this is the first time his views on the issue have been made public.
