The Prime Minister's Office declared that the Defense Ministry will issue a temporary regulation regarding the annulment of draft deferments. The announcement follows Wednesday's meeting between Knesset Minister Moshe Yaalon and Members of Knesset Moshe Yaalon. The two could not come to an agreement on the issue. Although a mandatory draft currently exists in Israel, as it does in several other countries, many Israelis can opt for exemptions based on religious considerations. Celebrities and other special cases can also allow for an exemption.
