With a heat wave expected beginning Thursday, the Electric Company is concerned that high electric use could lead to blackouts. The company has called on the public to use electric devices in the early morning or the evening when possible, to reduce demand in the hottest part of the day.

Electricity use is expected to reach 11,500 megawatts.
