The Knesset has approved a bill that will give grandparents additional rights regarding their grandchildren. The bill will allow courts to order that grandparents be allowed to visit their grandchildren in cases where the child’s parent, and grandparent’s child, is not acting as a parent.
Previously, the law allowed grandparents to be given visitation rights if their child, the child’s parent, was dead, but did not allow the same in cases where the adult child had neglected the grandchild or was unable to care for them.
