Prices were down, slightly, at the beginning of Tuesday-morning trading at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. A few minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 973.73, down .24 percent, while the TA 100 declined a quarter of a percent to 981.10, including a .14 percent drop to 1,074.21 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 stocks outside the TA 100 advanced .06 percent to 355.86.
Leading the gainers was insurance index which rose .59 percent to 841.08 as the financial institutions slipped .09 percent to 779.38, including a .19 percent decline by the bank issues. The oil and natural gas stocks stood at 1002.04, up .34 percent, and the real estate issues rose a quarter of a percent to 257.21. On the other side of the coin, most of the technology stocks fell 1.25 percent to 352.63, while the biomed index declined 1.01 percent to 729.76. The communications and media stocks stood at 396.57, down .97 percent.
