A large forest fire was raging Monday afternoon on the Golan Heights. Four planes and more than ten firefighting crews were struggling to bring the blaze under control and prevent it from spreading, despite high winds. In addition, dozens of residents had volunteered, while hundreds of hikers in the area of the fire were evacuated.
Officials said that putting out the blaze was proving difficult, because of the heat and winds. However, the official said he believed the fire would be brought under control and would not spread too much further.
