26 Months for Motorist who Ran Over Cyclists

The Petach Tikva Traffic Court sentenced Ilya Suliaris of Beith Shemesh to 26 months in prison and suspended his driver's license for 15 years for killing bicyclists Simon Yitzchak and Shalom Grossman and injuring five others when his car ran over them.

Suliaris, who was found to be driving at no less than 93 kilometers/59 miles an hour, admitted that he saw the cyclists in the right lane and fell asleep at the wheel as he got close to them.
