The Almagor umbrella group of terror-victim organizations demanded, Monday morning, an urgent meeting with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, following reports that he had agreed to release terrorists in exchange for a meeting with Chairman Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority. In a letter to Netanyahu, Almagor wrote, "Your government has paid enough to the Palestinians this year - more than any other government - including terrorists with blood on their hands. Don't add insult to injury."
The group also demanded publication of the conclusions of the Shamgar Committee about releasing terrorists. Almagor explained, in a statement, "The fact that Minister of Defense Ehud Barak does not allow the publication stems from a desire to ignore the committee's conclusions to allow him and Netanyahu to make deals with terrorists without law, without a judge and without the review of the public or bereaved families and the wounded."
