Modest gains outweighed modest losses at the start of trading, Monday, at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. About half an hour into the session the TA Composite Index stood at 977.51, up .08 percent while the TA 100 rose .07 percent to 985.36, including a .07 percent advance to 1077.31 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
The same percentage increase meant a posting of 735.86 for the biomed issues, while the rest of the technology index rose .18 percent to 356.92. Advances of .16 percent meant a posting of 257.81 for the the real estate issues and 398.22 for the communications and media stocks. The insurance index advanced .54 percent to 850.39 as the financial institutions declined .11 percent to 787.44, including a .37 percent loss by the bank issues, while the oil and natural gas stocks stood at 1016.19, down .14 percent.
