Amir Permitted to Meet With Other Prisoners

Yigal Amir, who is in prison for murdering former Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin, was allowed for the first time to meet with other prisoners at Rimonim Prison, where he had been held for some 15 years in solitary confinement. Amir was permitted to take a walk with other prisoners in the exercise yard, although he will remain incarcerated in his private cell.

In a hearing last week, prison officials said that they did not object to easing Amir's conditions in prison to some extent. In addition, the Shabak did not request that he remain in solitary confinement, as it has until now, prison officials said.
