The Knesset Aliyah and Absorption Committee will meet Monday to discuss the recent decision by a German court to ban circumcision in the country. The meeting was called by committee chairman MK Danny Danon after several MKs demanded a discussion on the matter. Attending the meeting will be officials from the Prime Minister's Office, the Foreign Ministry, and the German ambassador to Israel, Andreas Michaelis.

Danon said he was calling the meeting “because the State of Israel has an obligation to the Jewish people in the diaspora. We cannot permit a limitation of Judaism anywhere in the world, and circumcision is one of the bedrocks of Judaism.”
