Speaking at Sunday's cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said that it was important to ensure the unity of the nation in the context of the attempts to equalize the burden of service among all Israelis. “The new law that will replace the Tal Law on this issue must change reality, and increase the range of those who serve, while preserving the unity of the nation. I completely understand those who are protesting. Everyone must serve the country,” Netanyahu said.
The Likud on Sunday morning approved the findings of the Plesner Committee in a meeting later Sunday. After the approval, Netanyahu will meet with Kadima head Shaul Mofaz to discuss the new law regulating exemptions from the IDF.
