The Foreign Ministry said over the weekend that Israel would not participate in a UN Human Rights Council investigation on construction in Judea and Samaria. The UN was planning to establish a committee to determine the effects of Jewish construction in the region on Arab society and on the environment.
“We will not authorize the delegation to enter Israel and the territories,” a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said. “The establishment of the committee is another example of the singling out of Israel by the UN Human Rights Committee. Israel is thus suspending its ties with this group.”
