The Megilot Rescue Unit extricated 13 hikers, including a nine-year-old boy, who were stuck, Thursday evening, above a waterfall in the Nachal Chatzatzon stream in the Judean Desert. Megilot said the rescue was carried out under difficult conditions.
Four of the hikers had suffered from dehydration. Rescue workers hauled equipment and water, and extracted and cleared them by rappelling. Megilot got the call at 9:00 p.m. and the complicated operation only ended at 6:00 a.m.
