Rabbi Ariel: Hareidim Should Quit Coalition

Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, the founder of the Temple Institute, on Wednesday called on the heads of the hareidi parties in the Knesset to leave the coalition, following reports of the renovation work carried out by the Waqf at the Dome of the Rock.

“What kind of situation have we reached, where the place for which we prayed for thousands of years, the Holy of Holies, is being desecrated?” Rabbi Ariel told Arutz Sheva, adding that the heirs of the rabbis who pushed the Prime Minister to hand over the Temple Mount to Arab hands are now trying to protect themselves.

“They prefer to cry at the Kotel on Tisha B'Av, instead of trying to restore Jewish sovereignty on the Temple Mount,” he said. “I have a personal experience from two weeks ago, when I was banned from the Temple Mount and was questioned by Israeli police.”
