Ethiopian kessim [rabbis] will hold a special ceremony on July 9th at the grave site of former Prime Minister Yitzchak Shamir. The ceremony will take place at Mount Herzl cemetery in Jerusalem. Under Shamir's premiership, over 14,000 Jewish Ethiopians were airlifted to Israel in a special mission called Operation Solomon. Shamir passed away on June 30th at the age of 96.
