The Finance Committee held a discussion Wednesday on the cost of disassembling and moving homes in the Ulpana neighborhood of Beit El, rather than simply destroying them. The meeting was held at the request of MK Dov Henin (Hadash).

Henin sent several questions, “What exactly was promised to the settlers – replacement housing? For how long? Permanent homes? When? Where, exactly? On what timetable? How will the government verify the identity of those 'eligible' for replacement homes? How will we know that they didn’t bring new families or additional families to live in the caravillas? Did they ask for contracts proving that the settlers did in fact live in the homes that were evacuated?”

“How much did it cost to provide the Ulpana settlers with alternate housing… How much will the insane option [of rebuilding the homes] cost the citizens of Israel?” he demanded.
