Yigal Amir to Leave Solitary Confinement

Yigal Amir has been authorized to leave solitary confinement for the first time since beginning to serve his sentence for the murder of then-Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin. Until now, Amir’s biannual requests to be allowed to meet with his fellow prisoners have been repeatedly turned down.

In addition to being allowed to meet with fellow prisoners, Amir will now be allowed to watch television, make more frequent phone calls, and go out to the prison courtyard.
