Chairman Aryeh Eldad of the Knesset Lobby for the Struggle Against Corruption in the Public Sector needled former justice minister Chaim Ramon, Tuesday, after Ramon told interviewers he was forming a new political party. Referring to Ramon's conviction for kissing a soldier against her will, Eldad said, "I suggestthatRamon bring in Aryeh Deri andEhud Olmert,and ifelections onlytake placein a year-might be possible tobring even moreconvicted criminalswho are released by then or othercandidates for degrees -those who paidtheir debtto societyalready."
Deri has returned to politics, following a conviction for taking bribes when he was interior minister. Olmert is on trial for a number of corruption charges from the time before he became prime minister.
