Chairman Aryeh Eldad of the Knesset Lobby for the Struggle Against Corruption in the Public Sector needled former justice minister Chaim Ramon, Tuesday, after Ramon told interviewers he was forming a new political party. Referring to Ramon's conviction for kissing a soldier against her will, Eldad said, "I suggest that Ramon bring in Aryeh Deri and Ehud Olmert, and if elections only take place in a year - might be possible to bring even more convicted criminals who are released by then or other candidates for degrees - those who paid their debt to society already."
Deri has returned to politics, following a conviction for taking bribes when he was interior minister. Olmert is on trial for a number of corruption charges from the time before he became prime minister.
