Israeli Death Rate from Diabetes Higher than in Europe

The death rate from diabetes in Israel is 2.5 times higher than average in 19 European countries, according to a new report by the Ministry of Health, highlights of which were presented, Tuesday morning on Israel Defense Forces Radio. The report also reveals that the mortality rate for kidney disease is almost three times as high as in Europe.

The ministry explained that the Israeli population is eating more unhealthy food, smokes more, and does not invest enough in physical activity. At the same time, some doctors argue that the source of the gap between Israel and Europe is due to different monitoring methods.
