The heads of a public movement demanding that all Israelis serve in the IDF urged Shaul Mofaz to quit Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's government, after Netanyahu earlier announced the breakup of the Plesner Committee on equitable service to the state. “It's time to show leadership,” a letter from the group, popularly known as the “Sucker's Group” because of their acceptance of responsibilities for defense without question – as compared to other groups which seek to get out of service. “You can lead Israel to elections, where the main question will be equal responsibility for all,” the letter said.

Earlier, sources close to Mofaz said that he would not accept Netanyahu's declaration. Yohanan Plesner, who heads the committee, said he would release the results of the committee's deliberations Wednesday.
