Knesset Finance Committee chairman Moshe Gafni on Monday demanded that the Treasury immediately release funding for the rehabilitation of criminals in Israeli prisons. “Without the funds the Prisoner Rehabilitation Authority will collapse, and important treatments for many prisoners will be suspended,” Gafni said at a meeting of the committee.
Gafni further demanded the establishment of a committee made up of MKs, union officials, and the Treasury to discuss an overall strategy for funding the Authority.
