Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange started trading, Monday, with modest to moderate losses. About 45 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 978.86, down .22 percent, while the same percentage loss meant a 987.86 posting for the TA 100, including a quarter of a percent drop to 1,079.56 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Worst hit were the oil and natural gas stocks, which declined 1.14 percent to 1,094.76, followed by the communications and media index, which stood at 396.00, down eight tenths of a percent. Most of the technology issues declined by an average of .58 percent to 355.21, while the biotech stocks slipped .05 percent to 713.65, and the real estate index stood at 260.26, down .54 percent. The bank issues declined two tenths of a percent to 872.22 as the financial institutions stood at 794.33, down .02 percent, and the insurance stocks were virtually unchanged at 847.76.
